JOINING TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES ASME BOILER & PRESSURE VESSEL CERTIFICATION
Awarded S,R,U stamps for manufacture and assembly of power boilers and pressure vessels
Joining Technologies’ Additive Division (JTAD) recently received its “S”, “R”, and “U” Stamp Certificates of Authorization under ASME’s Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC). BPVC is a standard that provides necessary information for the design, material specifications, fabrication and inspection of boilers and pressure vessels. Recognized in over 100 countries, the code complies with all safety laws and regulations in the United States and Canada.
“Receiving these stamps demonstrates our commitment to the continous improvement of our systems and processes and positions us to provide a higher level of service to our energy and power generation customers,” said Quality Assurance Manager Jeff Whittaker. “The rigorous certification procedure required development of a separate quality manual. In the future we hope to expand this certification to include all of our joining services.”
The ASME “S” permits the manufacture and assembly of power boilers, while the “U” Stamp authorizes the manufacture of pressure vessels. The “R” Stamp allows for the repair of boilers, pressure vessels, and other pressure retaining systems. Each is considered a hallmark of the power generation and oil and gas industries. The Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Company of Connecticut serves as the authorized inspector for JTAD.
